Dissertation Award for BGE Students Will Honor Longtime Professor Stefano Vicini

The inaugural Stefano Vicini Dissertation Award will be presented in May 2026. Vicini, who retired in summer 2025, has been a Georgetown faculty member for 40 years and has mentored dozens of Ph.D. students.

Georgetown, Institute for Natural Medicine and MedStar to Offer a Continuing Medical Education Course in Whole-Person Health

For decades, BGE has taught graduate students about the intersections between biomedicine and alternative health practices. Now, Integrative Medicine & Health Sciences Director Hakima Amri is working with the Institute for Natural Medicine and MedStar Health to create a three-part digital continuing medical education (CME) course to teach clinicians to incorporate evidence-based whole-person healthcare strategies into everyday practice.
