A University Education Offers More Than a Degree, Commencement Speaker Dame Mary Beard Tells BGE Master’s Graduates in Class of 2026

The classicist spoke at Graduate Commencement as BGE’s newest M.S. graduates celebrated alongside peers from across the university. She offered the graduates new perspectives on the value of their university education and encouraged them to advocate for institutions of higher education.

School of Medicine Commencement Celebrates Ph.D. Biomedical Scientists, Medical Doctors

The Class of 2026 included 25 Ph.D. students from Georgetown University’s Biomedical Graduate Education programs, which merged with the School of Medicine in the 2025-2026 academic year. They joined 213 students receiving Doctor of Medicine degrees. Several medical students graduated with dual degrees, including four MD/PhD degrees, four MD/MBAs and one MD/MS.
