4th Annual 5K MCGSO Lab Rat Race

On April 25, 2015, BGE Master’s students, PhD’s, and friends of the community gathered together for the 4th Annual MCGSO 5K, “Lab Rat Race”. Runners and donors together helped raise over $1,200 in support of the Kathy Russell Emergency Relief Fund (KRERF), a fund established by Special Love, a non-profit organization that provides camps and a supportive community to children with cancer and their families.

This year’s “Lab Rat Race” proceeds supported a family with a daughter being treated at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center who was in need of urgent financial assistance. This year’s race exceeded year’s past in both participation and funds raised. The funds raised for KRERF were not only enough to support the one family, but will be used to help an additional family as well! Major thanks to the BGE community for coming together to support a great cause!
