Concentrations: Frequently Asked Questions

Concentrations are official variants of a master’s program that allow students to focus their studies on a specific area of interest. Students typically choose a concentration when they apply to their program, though they may be able to change concentrations later if they wish.

First, discuss your intent and the course implications with your program and receive approval from your program’s director. Then, email Holly Sanders to formally request the change to the new concentration, CCing your program’s director and administrator.

Please submit this request before registering for courses for the next semester so that the change will take effect at the beginning of the semester. At the latest, you must submit your request before the add/drop deadline.
