George Mason University and Georgetown University have an academic partnership known as the GeorgeSquared (G2). The Advanced Biomedical Sciences Certificate is offered through the G2 program. The certificate has an outstanding biomedical sciences curriculum to enhance students’ background for application to professional schools in the biomedical field.

Washington College is a liberal arts college founded in 1782 that is located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Washington College commits to providing a rigorous, engaging liberal arts education to all its students. Biomedical Graduate Education has partnered with Washington College to encourage students to specialize in a biomedical science topic through higher education and to pursue a career in the field of biomedical sciences. Fu Jen Catholic University School of Medicine was founded in 2000 to cultivate future physicians in becoming true professionals with the medical knowledge and clinical expertise that complement the core values of Catholic belief. The establishment of the School of Medicine has allowed Fu Jen Catholic University to become the third comprehensive university in Taiwan to provide medical education. Biomedical Graduate Education and the School of Medicine at Fu Jen Catholic University have partnered together to offer a dual-degree M.D./M.S. program for qualified students. Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology
Chennai, India

Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology is an accredited Grade ‘A’ University located in Chennai, India and imparts knowledge in the areas of engineering, science, technology and education. Biomedical Graduate Education has partnered with Sathyabama to promote and facilitate international cooperation in education, research and summer research internship opportunities offered through the Georgetown University Medical Center’s Dean for Research office. Jinan, China

Shandong University is a world-class university with 8 campuses spread through the Chinese cities of Jinan, Qingdao and Weihai. Shandong is a key comprehensive university with a long history, a variety of disciplines, strong academic strength, and distinctive characteristics. Biomedical Graduate Education and Shandong collaborate together through activities that include research exchange with the Georgetown University Medical Center’s Dean for Research office and partial tuition scholarships.

Southern Medical University (SMU)
Guangzhou, China

Southern Medical University is one of China’s top universities, and formerly known as the First Military Medical University. It is an institution of higher learning that features a multidisciplinary learning system with medicine as the hub, supported by science, engineering, law, management, literature, linguistics and pedagogy. Biomedical Graduate Education and Southern Medical University partner together in the areas of faculty exchange, research collaborations and partial tuition scholarships.

United International College (UIC)
Zhuhai, China

United International College (UIC) is jointly founded by Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). It is the first full-scale cooperation in higher education between the Mainland and Hong Kong. The education philosophy of UIC is unique in China, focusing on ‘Whole-Person Education,’ ‘Four-Point Education,’ ‘Global Outlook,’ and ‘General Education.’ Biomedical Graduate Education and UIC work closely together to support UIC students enrolled in Georgetown graduate programs and continue to collaborate together in the areas of education and teaching. As part of the partnership, partial tuition scholarships are offered.

LLNL

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) provide graduate students opportunities to engage in unique and cutting-edge research conducted at LLNL. The GUMC/LLNL Summer Scholars Program was launched in the summer of 2012, and is available to MS in Biotechnology students who have completed their Capstone Internship (BCHB-502) in spring. This 10-week full-time internship culminates in poster presentations at the LLNL Student Poster Symposium in early August.

Internship projects are available in research labs as well as the Industrial Partnerships Office. Students are selected to apply by the Program Director based on GPA, skills, and career goals.

GU/NIH Graduate Partnership Program

Georgetown University/National Institutes of Health (GU-NIH) Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences allows graduate students to explore all areas of biomedical research with experts from both research institutions. Ph.D. programs at GU currently participating in the partnership include:
