M.S. in Tumor Biology

After earning my master’s in Tumor Biology, I hope to pursue a Ph.D. and become a professor. I dream about leading a lab that challenges the field of breast cancer therapeutics and treatment resistance.

About Linara

Linara is from Potomac, Maryland. Before coming to Georgetown Biomedical Graduate Education, she earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences with specialization in Cell Biology & Genetics from the University of Maryland, College Park.

How do you approach challenges in your life?

I embrace obstacles as opportunities for growth, trusting that each challenge I face will ultimately lead to a positive outcome and greater resilience.

Why did you choose Georgetown for your graduate studies?

I chose the Tumor Biology program at Georgetown because of the opportunities to pursue cancer therapeutics research and the ability to personalize my learning experience.

What do you want to do after earning your degree?

After earning my master’s in Tumor Biology, I hope to pursue a Ph.D. and become a professor. I dream about leading a lab that challenges the field of breast cancer therapeutics and treatment resistance.

What motivates you?

My family, peers, professors, friends, and goals motivate me. I am lucky to have such a strong support system that challenges me to continue learning and inspires me to be selfless. I am constantly inspired by my parents, who made countless sacrifices to ensure I could pursue my dreams in cancer research. Most of all, I am motivated by my family members who lost their battles with cancer.
