How do you approach challenges in your life?
When confronted with challenges and hardships throughout life, I find solace in my peers and family. Having a strong support system and surrounding myself with people who uplift me is an invaluable resource.
I also remind myself that all life experiences, both good and bad, are opportunities to learn and grow. I know I will come out stronger in the end, better prepared for the next challenge. Through perseverance and determination, fueled by my faith, I believe I can overcome any obstacle life throws my way.
What led you to pursue graduate studies?
I am pursuing a master’s degree as part of my journey toward attending medical school and becoming a physician. Growing up, I witnessed health disparities firsthand, which fueled my passion for closing these gaps in healthcare as a provider committed to cultural competency and compassionate care.
Why did you choose Georgetown for your graduate studies?
I chose the SMP at Georgetown for the rigorous curriculum, quality professors, and a supportive environment. I also appreciate the institution’s deep dedication to the jesuit mission and cura personalis (care for the whole person).
What motivates you?
My main motivation and inspiration comes from my family and community. As the son of immigrants who have sacrificed so much to provide me with opportunities they never had, I am determined to succeed not only for them but also for others like them. Being the first in my family to pursue higher education has been an honor, and I hope to inspire others to follow their dreams.
