Military Leave
- Request Deadline: Contact BGE Academic Affairs as soon as possible after receiving military orders that require you to withdraw from a course or program.

Parental Leave
- Request Deadline: Submit your request to BGE Academic Affairs at least 3 months before your planned leave start date.

PhD Years 3+
These policies are for Ph.D. students who are eligible under the the GAGE-AFT Collective Bargaining Agreement (Article I, Section 2) as Ph.D. assistants in their third year onward.

Family Leave (GAGE only)
- Leave Limit: Up to one (1) semester in order to care for an immediate family member (as defined in Article XXIII: Personal Days) who has a serious health condition.
- Form: Log in to GMS, type “Request Absence” in the search bar, select the date(s) you will be off, and choose “Family Leave” as the reason.
