Inclement Weather Plan
The rain site for the 2018 Graduate School Commencement is McDonough Arena. All graduates are to report directly to the white tent in front of McDonough Arena at 7:30 am for the lineup in the event of a rain announcement. The official line-up instructions, a campus map with the commencement locations, and shuttle route map will be posted in spring 2018.
In the event of inclement weather, the University will make an announcement at 6:00 a.m. the morning of commencement day on the Georgetown University Commencement page and students will be notified via email right away. Rain announcements will also be available through our University Weather line at (202) 687-SNOW.
In the case of inclement weather, the BGE Commencement Reception location will remain at the Leavey Center Grand Ballroom.
We ask that you remind your family and guests that they may not approach the stage during any part of the Main Graduate Commencement Ceremony to take photos. The time for family photographs will be at the Biomedical Graduate Education (BGE) Commencement Reception.
A professional photographer from GradImages will be taking pictures during the Commencement Ceremony. These photos will be available for purchase from GradImages afterward. Contact GradImags at (800) 261-2576 for more information.
