Accelerated M.S. in Physiology

Highly motivated Georgetown B.S. in Human Science students can complete the M.S. in Physiology in one semester.

Our intensive non-thesis Master of Science in Physiology program is the launching point for a successful application to medical school, dental school, allied health programs or Ph.D. studies. Required courses provide an advanced science framework, and elective courses allow students to tailor the program to their interests and career goals by taking classes in many departments across Georgetown University Medical Center, including Tumor Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Clinical & Translational Research and more.

Many of the faculty who teach these courses also teach medical courses at Georgetown School of Medicine and Ph.D.-level courses in our biomedical programs. In a small master’s cohort of 30-40 students, you will receive rigorous instruction and personalized support to prepare you for professional school.

Application

HSCI students with a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the major are eligible to apply to this program by January 15 of their junior year. Students who wish to apply should inquire with Sumaira Akber, Assistant Dean, School of Health, or Jason Tilan, Director of Accelerated BGE Pathways, Department of Human Science.
