How do you approach challenges in your life?
I try to approach challenges in my life by thinking about them as potential avenues for growth. Especially when encountering difficult situations, I try to reflect on the circumstances that led to those obstacles and how I can maximize such challenges as learning lessons to further develop myself and my future goals.
Why did you choose Georgetown for your graduate studies?
I chose my program in Biohazardous Threat Agents & Emerging Infectious Diseases because it distinctly delves into my passion for health systems resilience through the lens of public health and biodefense, especially in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. This program has also helped me develop a stronger sense of what it takes to foster global health security, and broadened my understanding of the specialized career options that are at the forefront of tackling the world’s most pressing challenges.
What motivates you?
My family is my biggest motivation. Their resilience, empathy, and the sacrifices that they’ve made as I’ve developed and advanced myself through my education does not sit lightly with me for a single day. I’m forever grateful for them and how much of a role they’ve played in shaping me into the person I am today. I hope to make them proud and emulate the values that they’ve instilled in me in all that I do.
