What motivates you?

I am motivated by the opportunity to connect scientific discovery with meaningful patient care. My experiences in ophthalmology research, community clinics, and global health have shown me how much thoughtful, compassionate care can change a person’s life. I am especially driven by the idea that medicine is not only about treating disease, but also about restoring dignity, independence, and hope.

What’s your favorite thing to do in D.C.?

One of my favorite things to do in D.C. is explore the city’s museums, monuments, and neighborhoods. I enjoy being in a place where history, public service, and community are so closely intertwined. Whether I am walking near the National Mall or trying a new restaurant with friends, D.C. always feels like a city with something meaningful to discover.

How do you find community outside the classroom?

I find community through service, leadership, and shared experiences with classmates. Volunteering with local organizations in D.C. has helped me feel connected to the city beyond campus, while serving as class president has allowed me to build relationships with peers and support our cohort. I also value the informal moments of studying together, sharing meals, and checking in on one another that make a rigorous program feel more manageable.
