About Tilar
Tilar Martin is from Princeton, New Jersey. Before coming to Georgetown’s Biomedical Graduate Education, Tilar studied at Mount Holyoke College, where she majored in Neuroscience and Behavior.
Why did you choose Biomedical Graduate Education at Georgetown University?
Biomedical Graduate Education at Georgetown University offered me an unparalleled experience to further explore my interests in the medical field, in addition to science and health care overall. The academic rigor provides a valuable foundation for future endeavors. The support and mentorship from faculty, students, and alumni is truly empowering. The opportunities offered within my program, as well as across campus, provide diverse possibilities for growth regardless of your career path.
What do you hope to accomplish here at Georgetown and/or what is your interest in biomedical research or graduate studies?
I hope to gain further insight into the fundamental mechanisms of the human body and the interactions between our major and minor systems. Combined with my background in neuroscience and behavior, and lifelong dedication to serving disadvantaged communities, I aspire to transfer my medical knowledge into work that maximizes improving the lives of others and breaching barriers in health care.
