|7:30 am||Graduating students report to assigned room locations in White-Gravenor Hall and Intercultural Center (ICC) (allow time for transportation, traffic jams, parking, and walking to your lineup rooms). Students should report to their assigned rooms no later than 7:30 am. The assigned rooms will be announced in late April/early May.
Students are put in alphabetical order by their program, given hooding instructions, and given name cards at this time. Lineup commences shortly afterward.

Parking in the Southwest Quad or offsite at the Harris Building – Drivers MUST tell the parking booth attendant that they are here for the Graduate School Commencement Ceremony; otherwise, the attendant will charge you and your guests for parking.
Parking on and near the Georgetown campus is extremely limited. You are encouraged to use mass transit or taxicabs to the Healy Gate at 37th and O Streets, N.W., if at all possible. Directions to the BGE Reception

The rain site for the 2020 Graduate School Commencement Ceremony is McDonough Arena. All graduates are to report directly to the white tent in front of McDonough Arena at 7:30 am for the lineup in the event of a rain announcement. After the Commencement Ceremony, diplomas will be distributed at the BGE Commencement Reception.
In the event of inclement weather, the University will make an announcement at 6:00 am on the morning of commencement day on the Georgetown University Commencement page and students will be notified via email right away. Rain announcements will also be available through our University Weather line at (202) 687-SNOW.

If you or any of your guests will require accessible seating or other special accommodation, you need to let us know in advance so we can arrange appropriate seating. 1 attendant can accompany the handicapped guest in the reserved seating area (other guests should take seats in the general seating areas). Wheelchairs are available by advance reservation or may be rented on a first-come-first-served basis the day of Commencement. Please contact the Graduate School (with the subject line as Accessibility) as soon as possible to directly request and reserve seating and/or a wheelchair to use. Further details about available services and seating will be sent after your email is received.

We ask that you remind your family and guests that they may not approach the stage during any part of the Main Graduate Commencement Ceremony to take photos. The time for family photographs will be at the Biomedical Graduate Education (BGE) Commencement Reception.
A professional photographer from GradImages will be taking pictures during the Commencement Ceremony. These photos will be available for purchase from GradImages afterward. Contact GradImags at (800) 261-2576 for more information.
All graduates participating in Commencement are required to wear the appropriate academic regalia – gown, hood, cap, and tassel. Students showing up without regalia will not be allowed to participate in the Ceremony. Standard regalia will be available for purchase in the University Bookstore as well as over the phone (call Jostens at 1-800-548-5452 for more information) from now till the week of Commencement. The University Bookstore will only be opened Monday to Thursday, May 11th – 14th, from 9 am – 7 pm during the week of commencement.
The Bookstore will not be open early enough on Commencement Day, Friday, May 15, 2020, so please have your entire academic regalia purchased and on hand no later than Thursday, May 14, 2020. If you are a PhD student participating in the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony, please have your entire academic regalia purchase no later than Wednesday, May 13, 2020.

The diploma dimensions are 17 inches (43 cm) wide by 14 inches(35.5 cm) high. The diploma is written in Latin and an English translation is provided with your diploma. Diploma frames are available at the Georgetown University Bookstore in Leavey Center.
