What community service activity has meant the most to you?
Community service for me means a reciprocating relationship: By forging a bond with diverse people through compassion, I strive to become as a culturally competent, community-first physician.
What led you to pursue graduate studies?
I chose to pursue a graduate education in Integrative Medicine to become a broadly trained physician for my future patients. Having served as a volunteer EMT and performed research amongst vulnerable communities in Buenos Aires, I am committed to providing medical care in a holistic manner to my prospective patients.
What is your academic focus? What sparked your interest in it?
My academic focus is understanding the intersection between health and international affairs. Having graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s in Science, Technology and International Affairs, I gravitated towards studying global health in a holistic approach by examining social determinants of health. This was first sparked during my time living in Russia and witnessing negative health impacts brought about by governmental mismanaging of essential services like clean water and electricity.
What do you want to do after earning your degree?
After earning my master’s, I hope to attend medical school. Becoming a community-first physician has encouraged me to pursue clinical research in epidemiology and community dynamics while forging longitudinal relationships while in the hospital.
