There are many steps to take as a new student. Follow the New Student Checklist to establish your accounts and registrations. You’ll also attend New Student Orientation to familiarize yourself with our processes and resources.

New Student Orientation
Biomedical Graduate Education hosts orientations for incoming students in Fall, Spring and Summer. Orientation provides important information about registration, student organizations, student financial services, academic integrity, library facilities and computer resources.
Spring 2025 Biomedical Orientation for New Master’s and Certificate Students
The online Spring Biomedical Orientation is mandatory for all incoming biomedical students. In early January, incoming students will receive an email to complete the Spring Orientation.

New international students: Please visit the Office of Global Services website for the official OGS Orientation and Immigration Document Review.
- Tuesday, October 1, 2024: Georgetown begins SEVIS immigration document issuance for Spring 2025. International Student Portal invitations are emailed to confirmed admits with an active learner record to begin the I-20 process.
- Friday, December 6, 2024, 5 p.m.: Deadline to upload evidence for F-1 or J-1 eligibility and documents. New students must arrive in the U.S. at least 30 days before the start of classes.
- Tuesday, January 7, 2025, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: MANDATORY International Student Orientation and SEVIS Registration. Please avoid schedule conflicts.
- Tuesday, January 7, 2025, 2:30-3:30 p.m.: Graduate Main Campus Tour hosted by OGS. (Tour does not include the Medical Center)
- Wednesday, January 8, 2025: Classes begin for Spring 2025.
The International Student Portal reopens for Summer and Fall international admits on March 1, 2025.
